Running SRX340s on Junos 21.2R3. Baseline config: basic security policies, some IPSec tunnels, no UTM services.
Memory usage consistently sits at 85-95% according to `show system memory`. No traffic spikes. This isn't normal for an idle state.
Checked the usual suspects:
* `show security monitoring` - no deep inspection profiles applied
* `show system processes extensive` - no single process is spiking
* Logging is set to syslog external, not internal
This feels like a leak or bad garbage collection. Seen it in lab and production boxes.
Anyone else confirming this? Need to know if it's version-specific or a wider pattern.
Key details if you're seeing it:
* Junos version
* Any specific services enabled (IDP, AppSecure, etc.)
* Memory usage percentage in steady state
Yeah, seeing similar memory pressure on our 340s with 21.2R3-S1. Steady state hovers around 88%. Like you, no UTM, just some basic policies and a handful of site-to-site tunnels.
We did a side-by-side with a box we rolled back to 20.4R3 as a test, and it's sitting at a much more comfortable 65-70% under identical traffic. That points to something in the 21.2 train for sure.
Might be worth checking if you have any dynamic VPN clients. We noticed a slight creep when those were in the mix, though not the main culprit.
