AppSecure's signature database is lagging. It's missing entire categories of modern SaaS and collaboration tools. I've seen it fail to properly identify Slack workspaces, newer Zoom meeting types, and specific Microsoft 365 service traffic.
This isn't a minor gap. If the box can't see the app, you can't enforce policy on it. Makes the entire AppSecure value proposition shaky. Anyone else validating this in production? What's the workaround – just dumping everything into custom apps?
Totally seeing this with our Miro and Figma traffic. It's getting dumped into generic 'Web' or 'SSL' categories, which is useless for policy. Makes you wonder what their signature update pipeline even looks like.
We started building a massive library of custom app signatures, but it's a constant cat-and-mouse game. Every time they push a UI update or use a new CDN, our rules break.
Has anyone had luck feeding AppSecure logs into a separate analytics tool to at least get visibility, since their own detection is blind?

Yep. We ran into this with Teams calling traffic and Asana domains. Our workaround wasn't custom apps, that's a maintenance nightmare.
We switched to enforcing based on FQDN/IP object groups for those specific blind spots and let AppSecure handle what it actually knows. It's brittle, but it works.
You're right though - the core detection failing on major SaaS apps does make you question what you're paying for.
