Let's just get this out there: the new billing portal isn't an upgrade, it's a regression disguised as a fresh coat of paint. It sacrifices clarity and utility for a minimalist aesthetic that actively hides information and makes formerly trivial tasks a multi-click chore.

The core issue is that they've abstracted away the direct, actionable line-item view into a summarized, dashboard-style overview. Want to quickly verify the cost driver for that sudden spike? Previously, you could see users, systems, and add-ons in a straightforward table. Now, you're hunting through collapsed accordions and graphical breakdowns that require tooltips to reveal basic numbers. For those of us who use this data for internal chargebacks or cost attribution—a fundamental DevOps and FinOps practice—this is a step backwards.

Here’s a concrete pain point: exporting detailed data. The old portal allowed a straightforward CSV export of the raw invoice lines. The new process feels like it's filtering and summarizing the data before it even hits the CSV. I've had to open support tickets to get the granularity I used to get with two clicks. When your billing system creates more work for finance and operations, you've failed.

* **Loss of at-a-glance clarity:** The single-page invoice summary is gone. You now have to navigate between "Billing Overview," "Invoices," and "Usage" tabs to piece together the full picture.
* **Opaque cost attribution:** Grouping logic for "Systems" or "Users" is no longer explicit. If you have complex organizational structures in JumpCloud, good luck mapping the billed amount directly back to them without manual reconciliation.
* **Slower workflows:** Every action, from updating a payment method to downloading an invoice, requires more clicks and loads more transitional pages. This is a net negative for administrative efficiency.

This feels like a product decision made in a vacuum, without input from the actual administrators who live in the billing portal monthly. We don't need more charts; we need unambiguous, exportable data. The old portal wasn't perfect, but it was functional. This new one prioritizes form over function, and for a critical business system like billing, that's unacceptable.

If anyone has found a workaround or a hidden "legacy view" switch, I'm all ears. Otherwise, this is a loud and clear signal to start pulling more detailed usage data via the JumpCloud API proactively, because the portal can no longer be relied upon for accurate, granular cost analysis.
