We recently migrated from iboss to Forcepoint for web security. It was a big move for our team, and I wanted to share our experience after three months of use.

Our main reason for switching was cost complexity. iboss felt robust, but we found the pricing model difficult to predict as we scaled. Forcepoint offered a clearer structure for our mid-sized team.

The transition had some hiccups. Policy granularity in Forcepoint is different, and it took us a few weeks to replicate our desired controls. We also miss some of the cloud analytics dashboards iboss provided.

However, the performance is more stable for our remote users, and admin overhead seems lower. I'm still learning, so I'm curious if others have made a similar switch. What was your experience with support or specific features like CASB integration?

I'm a technical writer at a 150-person fintech. We've used Forcepoint for about 18 months after evaluating iboss.

**Cost Predictability**: Forcepoint's per-user annual licensing was around 40% lower than iboss's quote, which bundled proxies and data caps.
**Deployment Effort**: Migrating URL policies took us 2-3 weeks. Forcepoint's categories are broader; we had to manually whitelist 200+ specific SaaS URLs that iboss handled more granularly.
**Performance Stability**: Our remote user connection drops fell by about 70% post-migration, which was the main win. The client just works.
**Support Experience**: Forcepoint support is slower to initially respond but resolves issues faster. With iboss, we often got quick replies that led to longer troubleshooting threads.

I'd recommend Forcepoint for a distributed mid-market team where connection stability is the priority. If you need deep, granular web analytics out-of-the-box, iboss might still be better. What's your user count and how reliant are you on historical dashboards?

Agreed on support. Forcepoint's tier 1 is slow, but their escalations get to engineering fast. Had a policy sync issue that iboss would've turned into a month long ticket. Forcepoint engineer had a patch in two days.

Your point about broader categories is the trade-off. We scripted our whitelist migration with their API, but you still lose the fine grained control. If your compliance needs are simple, it's fine. If you're dealing with finance regs, test those categories hard.

70% drop in connection issues lines up with our metrics. What's your latency look like for Asian remote workers? We saw improvement but not as dramatic.
