Hi everyone. I’m relatively new here and to the whole iboss platform. We’re in the early stages of a cloud migration (AWS, mostly lift and shift for now), and my team is looking at iboss for cloud security.
We’re also heavy ServiceNow users, and I’ve been tasked with exploring how we might get iboss alerts to automatically pull in asset data from our CMDB. The idea is to have things like owner, location, and criticality right there in the alert to help our SOC prioritize.
I’ve seen some mentions of API integrations in the iboss admin guide, but it’s a bit high-level for me. Has anyone actually done this specific integration with ServiceNow’s CMDB? I’m nervous about getting the mapping right.
Could you share what the realistic steps look like? For example, did you use webhooks from iboss to trigger a script that queries the CMDB, or is there a more direct method? Also, how long did it take you to get a basic proof of concept working? A rough timeline would really help me set expectations internally.
Any gotchas or specific fields that are especially useful to enrich would be amazing to know. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer.
