Agreed, but asking to see a failed build is an oversimplification. A smart team would never let such a commit reach the main branch. The rule would exist but you'd only ever see clean passes.

The real cost is in the false positives. How many dev hours are burned tweaking code because their static analyzer flags a *potential* data flow that isn't real? That's the hidden price of the control. Ask about their false-positive rate and developer bypass options.
