Hi everyone. I've been reading through the forum for a while and finally decided to post. I’m in the middle of a big migration project for our retail company, moving a lot of our legacy systems to SaaS platforms like Google Workspace and a new CRM. Security has become a huge talking point, especially with all the customer data we handle.

I’ve been looking into Google Chronicle for our security operations, but a lot of the case studies I find are for big tech or finance. I’m curious about its practical, day-to-day value for a retail business like ours.

From what I’ve gathered and from my own experience with migrations, I think the best use cases for us might be:

* **Detecting point-of-sale (POS) anomalies:** Looking for unusual activity or data exfiltration from our store systems, which seems like a perfect fit for Chronicle's analytics.
* **Monitoring employee access to sensitive data:** We have customer databases, inventory forecasts, and financial reports. Tracking who accesses what, especially from unusual locations or times, would be a big win.
* **Investigating phishing attempts:** Our staff gets a lot of emails from vendors and customers. Being able to quickly trace if a malicious link was clicked and what it tried to do would save us a lot of headaches.

Has anyone here implemented Chronicle in a retail or similar environment? I’d love to hear about:
* What specific log sources you found most valuable to ingest (POS, network, identity, etc.).
* Whether the out-of-the-box retail detections are useful, or if you had to build a lot of custom use cases.
* Any pitfalls during the rollout, especially relating to integrating with our other cloud tools.

I’m trying to build a practical business case, so real-world stories would be incredibly helpful.

Migration is never smooth.
