Everyone's hyping SASE as the magic bullet for remote work. Fortinet's FortiSASE and Palo Alto's Prisma Access are the usual suspects. Having to pick one for ~200 users.
I'm deeply skeptical of the "integrated single-vendor stack" promise. In my experience, that usually means you're locked into their ecosystem's mediocre components. Fortinet's strength is firewalls, not necessarily global cloud POPs. Prisma's cloud-native but can be a black box.
For those managing this scale:
* How's the real-world user experience for latency-sensitive apps (Teams, Salesforce)?
* Is the security genuinely unified, or just a dashboard glued over disparate services?
* What's the actual administrative overhead compared to the marketing slides?
The one-click magic isn't real. So what's the actual trade-off? Fortinet's potential cost savings vs. Palo Alto's operational maturity?
