Hey everyone, first post here! 👋 I'm helping evaluate NGFWs for my company (~500 users, hybrid cloud/on-prem). We're looking hard at FortiGate and Palo Alto Networks.
My team is pretty new to this. We've done basic firewall stuff but next-gen features like advanced threat prevention and SSL inspection are new territory. The datasheets are a bit overwhelming.
Could someone explain, in beginner-friendly terms, the real-world differences we might see? Especially:
- Managing application-based policies day-to-day.
- The actual throughput hit when UTM features are all turned on.
- Any gotchas with setting up HA or cloud integrations.
Budget is a factor, but we want to make a smart long-term choice. Thanks so much for any guidance you can offer!
