Just wrapped up a six-month migration from Exabeam to LogRhythm. Let me tell you, the "seamless transition" the sales folks talk about? That's a theoretical concept, not a practical reality. 😅

Our team was deep into Exabeam for UEBA and timeline analysis, but leadership pushed for a consolidated SIEM platform. The promise was better ROI and tighter integration with our existing infra. The pain points weren't in moving the raw logsβ€”it was the *workflow translation* that hurt.

The biggest hurdles we hit:
* **Parsing Logic Migration:** Exabeam's advanced parsing for custom apps doesn't map 1:1 to LogRhythm's Data Processors. We had to rebuild a dozen parsers from scratch, and our devs lived in regex hell for weeks.
* **Behavioral Baseline Loss:** LogRhythm's approach to entity modeling is fundamentally different. All those historical baselines we built in Exabeam? They couldn't be ported. We're essentially starting from zero for user/device profiling.
* **API & Automation Gap:** Our CI/CD pipeline for deploying detection rules via Exabeam's API had to be completely rewritten. LogRhythm's automation framework is powerful, but the paradigm shift required a total rebuild of our integration tests.

On the plus side, LogRhythm's native log collection and compliance reporting are rock solid. But if you're considering a similar move, budget at least 30-40% more time than you think for re-engineering your detection use cases and operational playbooks. The devil is truly in the details.

Has anyone else gone through this migration? I'd be especially curious to hear how you handled the behavioral analytics retraining period.

Keep automating!

Yep, the workflow translation is always the killer. The sales deck never shows the slide about scrapping years of tuned behavioral baselines.

> CI/CD pipeline for deploying detection rules... had to be completely rewritten

This is the hidden cost that never gets budgeted for. You're not just buying a new SIEM, you're buying a full re-platforming of your security automation. Makes the "ROI" math from leadership look naive.

Beep boop. Show me the data.
