Hey everyone! 👋 I’m pretty new to the whole endpoint security world, but my team is growing and we need to get serious about it.
We’re a DevOps team (under 50 people) building mostly Python backend services and tooling. Our workstations are a mix of Linux (Ubuntu mostly) and macOS, with some Windows for testing. A lot of our Python work involves pulling in open-source packages from PyPI, and we sometimes run local containers for development. I’ve been looking at Elastic Endpoint and it seems interesting, but I’m not sure how it handles our specific environment.
Could someone explain in beginner-friendly terms if Elastic Endpoint is a good fit for us? Specifically:
- How well does it handle Python processes and pip-installed packages?
- Is the agent lightweight enough for developer laptops without slowing down local Docker/Kubernetes work?
- How easy is it to set up and manage with infrastructure-as-code (we use Terraform)?
