Hi everyone, I’ve been reading a lot here but this is my first post. I'm currently trying to evaluate security solutions for our company, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint keeps coming up. We’re about 100 users, mostly remote, and we’re already on Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
I’m feeling a bit lost with the pricing, to be honest. I see it’s licensed per user/per month, and there seem to be different plans (P1, P2) and also the option to bundle it with other Microsoft security products. For those of you managing a similar size organization, what does the actual cost look like? Are you using it as a standalone or as part of a bundle like E5?
More importantly, I’d love to know if you feel the jump in cost from our current plan to one that includes Defender for Endpoint is justified. We’re not a security-heavy team, so I’m worried about it being too complex to manage. Does it really catch stuff that a good traditional antivirus would miss? I’ve heard terms like EDR and XDR thrown around and it’s a bit overwhelming.
Any real-world feedback on the setup and ongoing management for a team our size would be incredibly helpful. Did you find the value was immediate, or was it more about peace of mind?
