Contractors and part-timers are the poison pill in any per-seat SaaS model. Cloudflare One is no exception.
Our finance people nearly had an aneurysm when we tried to map our 6-month contractor rotations and shared service accounts onto their billing. The official answer is "buy more seats" or use their non-user-based tiers for specific services, which defeats the point of the suite.
Looking for real-world hacks. Do you:
- Just eat the cost and call it a security tax?
- Route contractor traffic through a different, non-user-based gateway?
- Something else entirely?
The marketing says it's "simple." It's not.
Trust but verify.
