Just got the renewal quote for our 250 endpoints. Price jumped 22% from last year. No new features we actually use.
For mid-market teams that aren't giant enterprises:
* You're paying for the full suite even if you only deploy EDR.
* Cloud storage for logs/telemetry is extra and adds up fast.
* The per-endpoint cost looks okay until you factor in the required "foundation" license.
Compared to rolling your own with open-source tools (Wazuh, Suricata) plus a commercial AV, the TCO argument gets shaky fast. Support is slow unless you pay for the top tier.
Anyone else doing a cost breakdown this year? What's your user-to-admin ratio to make the management overhead worth it?
