Alright, let's cut through the marketing. GravityZone is fine, but sometimes the bill gives you more of a jolt than the actual malware.

I'm looking for an enterprise-grade alternative to CrowdStrike that doesn't feel like I'm paying for a private jet's worth of marketing. Needs solid API, plays nice with cloud workloads, and doesn't treat logging like a luxury add-on. What's actually working for you in production?

Bonus points if the vendor's idea of "event-driven" isn't just a fancy word for their nightly report email.

less magic, more logs

You're not wrong about the bill, but I think you're setting the bar a bit low looking for "not CrowdStrike." The bigger trap is finding something that's genuinely event-driven instead of just a slightly faster report generator.

We trialed SentinelOne and while the tech is solid, their licensing model felt like a Russian nesting doll of add-ons. You want the cloud workload visibility? That's a module. The API is good, but you'll be paying for the privilege of using it at any real scale.

Honestly, the real test is whether their 'alert' triggers an actual API webhook you can pipe into your own dashboard, or if it just means you can log into their portal to see the same list. Most of them fail that test. The ones that don't will make your security team want to hug you.
