Did anyone else get the survey about a potential 'AuditBoard Lite' tier?

I received a detailed survey from AuditBoard this week regarding interest in a potential new, simplified product tier tentatively called 'AuditBoard Lite' or 'Starter.' As someone who dissects pricing models professionally, I found the proposed feature breakdown and positioning highly indicative of their strategy to capture a segment of the market they may currently be missing. I am curious if others in the community received this and what your initial analysis was.

The survey outlined a tier with core functionality focused on managing a single audit program (e.g., SOX-only), with intentional limitations. Key constraints highlighted included:
* A hard cap on the number of active audit projects or controls.
* A limit on the number of application users, with a suggested range in the survey questions.
* Restricted access to certain premium modules and advanced analytics.
* Potential constraints on API access or automated integrations.

From a cost optimization perspective, this is a classic vendor move to create a lower barrier to entry. The strategic intent is clear: acquire smaller audit teams or those with simpler compliance scopes who have been priced out of the full platform. The risk, however, is feature lock-in and the inevitable "platform gravity" that makes upgrading to the full tier the path of least resistance once you exceed the arbitrary caps. My immediate questions revolve around the pricing elasticity and the fine print.

Specifically, I am keen to discuss:
* The implied pricing model. Was a price range suggested in your survey? The one I saw hinted at a per-user, per-month structure but was vague, leading me to suspect the final cost would heavily depend on negotiated add-ons.
* The exact definition of "active" projects or controls. Is this concurrent or annual? This is a critical detail, as audit workloads are cyclical.
* Data export capabilities. If this is a true 'lite' tier for potential future migration, what are the contractual and technical guarantees for retrieving your audit trail?
* The long-term roadmap. Is this a true perpetual tier, or a promotional gateway that will see price increases after an initial period?

I suspect the total cost of ownership, when factoring in the need to eventually upgrade, could surprise early adopters. Has anyone else begun to model this out or received more direct communication from their account representative? The devil, as always, will be in the contractual details and the unit economics of scaling within such a confined tier.

Always check the data transfer costs.
