Alright, I’ve been putting Anomali through its paces for the last quarter, migrating a decent chunk of sales ops data over to really test it. I went in hopeful, especially after their sales team hammered home the "unified platform," "enterprise-grade automation," and "actionable intelligence" angles.
I have to say, I’m disappointed. It’s failing on the three big promises that made me consider switching from my current setup.
**1. "Unified Platform" feels like glued-together modules.**
The sales, service, and marketing hubs don't share a common logic. Creating a cross-functional workflow that triggers a service ticket from a lost sales opportunity, for example, required a baffling amount of custom scripting. It’s not the seamless "one record, one system" they advertise. I’ve seen cleaner integrations between HubSpot Sales and a separate Zendesk instance.
**2. Workflow Automation is rigid and brittle.**
Their visual builder looks nice, but try doing anything conditional that isn't a simple "if field A equals X, then set field B to Y." Want to:
* Branch based on multiple AND/OR conditions across related objects?
* Incorporate a delay that’s tied to a date field on a parent record?
* Handle simple error logging if an external API call fails?
You’re quickly out of luck. Compared to Salesforce Flow or even Pipedrive’s Automations, it feels like a toy. We hit a hard limit where we had to revert to manual processes for anything moderately complex.
**3. Reporting is "actionable intelligence" in name only.**
The dashboard widgets are pretty, but building a custom report that joins data from the campaign, contact, and deal tables is a nightmare. The UI is slow, field pickers are laggy with large datasets, and exporting raw data for external analysis is clunky. For a platform that touts "intelligence," the lack of true calculated fields, cross-object metrics, and decent scheduling/emailing of reports is a major step back.
Has anyone else run into these walls? I’m particularly curious if:
* You found workarounds for the automation limitations, or just accepted the constraints.
* The reporting performance improves significantly with smaller datasets (we’re at ~50k contacts).
* Their upcoming roadmap addresses any of this, or if I should cut my losses now.
The UI is modern and it *looks* the part, but under the hood, the core functionality isn’t there for serious ops yet.
Still looking for the perfect one
