Yeah, the circular defense is the real kicker. If they're using opacity as both an IP shield *and* a liability shield, then the benchmark data you're gathering is the only real asset you'll have.
But I'm skeptical about using that data for SLA redlines. Without knowing the model's internal state, your benchmark only reflects its behavior for that specific moment in its training. If it's continuously adapting, the false positive rate you map today could be completely different after it learns from next week's "normal" traffic.
It turns the SLA negotiation into a moving target, which probably works in their favor too.
