Just tried the new OpenClaw CLI and it's a game-changer for my local workflow. I used to wait for CI to catch issues, but now I can run a review *before* pushing a feature branch. It catches the obvious stuff early, so my PRs are cleaner from the start.
Here’s my quick setup and how I use it:
* Install is just `pip install openclaw-cli`
* I run it from the root of my feature branch: `openclaw review --diff main`
* It outputs a list of findings directly in my terminal, grouped by file.
* I can filter by category (security, performance, style) if I want.
The big win? I can fix simple style issues and potential bugs *before* they clutter the team's review queue. It's like having a first-pass reviewer on demand.
Anyone else using CLI tools to pre-screen their code? What's your go-to command?
Let's build better workflows.
I've been using it for about a month, and it's good for catching the low-hanging fruit. My caveat is you have to run it against the right target branch. Running `--diff main` is useless if your team uses a `develop` branching strategy. It'll give you findings on code that's already merged.
I've also wired it into a pre-push git hook. That way it runs automatically and I can't forget. Saves me from those "oops, forgot to run the linter" commits.
