How do I set up a benchmark test for audience activation speed?

Hi everyone! I'm in the middle of a platform evaluation and I keep hearing vendors promise "real-time" audience activation. I want to cut through the marketing speak and actually measure it myself. We're looking at a couple of CDPs for a high-velocity lead scoring and ad sync use case, so speed genuinely matters for us.

I'm planning a benchmark test, but I want to make sure I'm measuring the right things and not missing a key step. My goal is to simulate a real-world scenario: a user fills out a form, that updates their lead score, and they need to be pushed to a Meta Custom Audience.

Here’s my current plan. Could you poke holes in it or share what you've done?

**Test Setup:**
* **Source:** A test form submission directly into the CDP (or via a staging website).
* **Event:** The form fill triggers a lead score change (e.g., from "Cold" to "Marketing Qualified").
* **Activation:** A pre-built audience segment (e.g., "All MQLs") is set to sync to a Meta ad account.
* **Measurement Point:** I'll track the time from the form submission event being received by the CDP to when the user's ID appears in the Meta Ads Manager audience.

**Key Metrics I'll Log:**
* **Processing Time Inside CDP:** How long for the event to update the profile and qualify the user for the segment?
* **Export Latency:** Once in the segment, how long until the sync job runs and pushes the data?
* **Platform Processing:** How long for Meta (or any other destination) to actually ingest and make the user targetable?

I'm especially unsure about the tools. Should I just use a simple script to timestamp the form event and then manually check Meta? Or are there better ways to automate the tracking?

Also, are there any "hidden" delays I should be aware of? Like CDP batch frequencies, API rate limits on the destination side, or even time-of-day effects on processing?

Any war stories or data points from your own tests would be incredibly helpful! 😊
