Am I the only one who finds You.com's default search results overly generic?

Okay, I need to get this off my chest. I've been using You.com for a few months now, primarily for its AI agent features and the promise of more "thoughtful" results. But more and more, I'm finding the default web search results page... kind of bland and surface-level.

When I search for something specific—like "best practices for fine-tuning a small LLM on a custom dataset"—the top organic results feel like they're pulled from the same generic SEO-optimized articles. I often have to scroll past 2-3 very basic "what is fine-tuning" listicles before hitting a forum or a niche blog with the gritty details I actually want. It doesn't feel that different from the big G sometimes, which is disappointing.

I love the *YouChat* and *YouWrite* sidebars—that's where the real value is for me! But the core search feels like it's playing it too safe. Has anyone else noticed this?

My workflow now is basically:
* Do my initial search on You.com.
* Quickly scan for the "Discussion" or "Academic" tabs, which are usually better.
* More often than not, end up using the AI agent to synthesize or dig deeper because the first-page results were too generic.

I'm wondering if it's my profile, my search history, or if the algorithm is just tuned for a broader, less technical audience. Would love to hear if others have tweaked settings or use specific modes to get past this.
