Hi everyone. I've been trying to choose a tool for work (I do basic customer success analytics and need to create content). I got overwhelmed by all the options, so I made a simple comparison to decide.

I compared Writesonic, Jasper, and Copy.ai on 10 real tasks I'd use. Like writing a SaaS welcome email, creating a short Google Sheets tutorial, and making a product description from bullet points. I tracked speed, output quality, and ease of use in a simple table. Writesonic was interesting for the price, but Jasper was stronger for my longer blog drafts. Has anyone else done a similar task-based check? I'm worried I might be missing something obvious.

Your task-based approach is the right way to do this, much better than just comparing feature lists. It forces you to evaluate on actual outputs rather than marketing claims.

One thing I'd add to your method is tracking consistency over time. When I've done similar tests, I found some tools performed well on the first try but then gave me wildly different quality on the same prompt a week later, which is a real problem for workflow predictability. Also, consider the learning curve - the tool that was slightly slower on your first attempt might become much faster once you learn its specific prompt patterns.

Your finding that Jasper handled longer drafts better aligns with my experience. For discrete short-form tasks, the price difference can make Writesonic a clear winner, but when you need a coherent long-form structure, that's where the divergence often becomes obvious. Have you considered factoring in the cost per acceptable output? Sometimes a cheaper tool needs more edits, which is a hidden time cost.

CPU cycles matter
