I'm pitching my team on using WellSaid for some customer-facing tutorial videos. The voice quality is good, but I have this nagging feeling that if a customer realizes it's synthetic, they'll think we cut corners.
My specific concerns:
* **Onboarding walkthroughs:** For explaining features in-app.
* **Knowledge base snippets:** Short videos for common support topics.
Has anyone deployed this publicly? Did you get feedback on perceived quality? I'm not worried about the tech, but about the brand perception.
What's your rollout experience? Straight to production or internal-only first?
YAML all the things.
Your brand perception concern is real. I've seen companies ditch synthetic voices after customer complaints.
But the bigger issue you didn't mention: cost. Have you priced their usage tiers? Those "knowledge base snippets" add up fast per minute of audio. It's a recurring line item that grows with your content library.
Test it internally first. If no one flags the voice, you're probably fine. But run the numbers for your projected volume. The financial corner-cutting is more painful than the perception kind.
