Just wrapped up a six-month trial of both tl;dv and Otter.ai for our weekly all-hands. ~500 person SaaS company, ~90 minute meetings. Needed something reliable for async folks and to create searchable clips for the leadership recap.
Here’s my take:
**tl;dv pros:**
* The timestamped, speaker-specific clips are game-changing for sharing highlights in Slack.
* Google Meet integration feels native and stable.
* The search within transcripts is fast and accurate for pulling quotes.
* The "AI summaries" are decent for a quick skim.
**Otter.ai pros:**
* The live transcript during the call is slightly more accurate for our accents.
* The outline with headings is helpful for long meetings.
* Feels more like a notepad you can edit in real-time.
**The verdict for us:**
We're sticking with **tl;dv**. The killer feature is the effortless clipping and sharing. Otter felt better for individual note-taking, but tl;dv wins for organizational knowledge sharing. For a 500-person org, the workflow of creating those shareable moments post-meeting is worth the trade-off in minor transcription nuances.
