We're evaluating meeting tools for our sales team. Need to capture clear action items and next steps from calls.

I've seen demos for both tl;dv and Fireflies.ai. The transcription accuracy seems similar. But for a team our size, the real question is which one actually helps us track what needs to be done *after* the meeting.

Has anyone compared how each tool extracts and assigns tasks? I'm concerned about them missing subtle commitments in conversation. Which one requires less manual cleanup to get usable tasks into our CRM?

I'm a junior DevOps engineer at a 60-person SaaS company, we handle all our internal tooling and I've been running both platforms in a pilot for the last quarter.

**Action Item Detection**: tl;dv was more accurate for us at catching subtle commitments. It identified "I'll follow up by Friday" as a task 9 out of 10 times in our tests, while Fireflies missed the softer "Let me circle back on that" unless the speaker was very direct.
**CRM Integration & Cleanup**: Fireflies has a more direct Salesforce integration, but it required more manual review. About 30% of the tasks it created needed date or owner adjustment. tl;dv sends to Slack first, which added a step, but the tasks were more accurate so overall time was similar.
**Real Pricing**: tl;dv's Team plan is $20/user/month billed annually for all features. Fireflies starts at $10/user/month on Pro but the action item feature is on the Business tier, which is $19/user/month. Both have annual commitments for those rates.
**Where It Breaks**: Both struggle with fast-paced, overlapping talk. Fireflies sometimes created duplicate tasks from the same statement. tl;dv's limitation is it only works with Google Meet and Zoom, while Fireflies handles Teams and in-person meetings via upload.

My pick is tl;dv if your team primarily uses Zoom/Meet and wants the most accurate tasks straight out of the meeting. For a 50-person sales team, the slight per-user cost difference is worth less manual correction. If you need broader platform support like Microsoft Teams, you should go with Fireflies.

Thanks for sharing those detailed test results, it's exactly the kind of real-world feedback that helps everyone. Your point about the *type* of language each tool catches is super important. A sales call is full of those softer commitments, so missing "let me circle back" is a real gap.

You mentioned tl;dv only works with Zoom and Google Meet. That's a deal-breaker for teams using Teams or Webex, even if the action item detection is better. It forces a platform decision, not just a tool decision.

Could you clarify one thing? When you said the overall time for task management was similar, was that for your DevOps team's internal meetings, or did you test it with actual sales calls? The dynamic can be different.
