Hey everyone, has anyone else noticed the tl;dv Chrome extension tends to get a bit... fragile after a Chrome update? 😅 I've been using it religiously to capture meeting snippets for my Zaps, and I've hit a pattern where after an automatic Chrome update, the extension icon grays out or just stops injecting the recording interface into my Google Meet tabs.
It's particularly frustrating when you're mid-automation flow! My Make scenario that triggers on new tl;dv clips just goes silent, and I have to go digging.
Here's my usual troubleshooting ritual, which *usually* works:
* **Full reload:** Not just refresh the Meet tab, but a hard reload (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac).
* **Extension re-enable:** Go to `chrome://extensions/`, toggle tl;dv off and on.
* **The nuclear option:** Remove the extension entirely and re-install from the Chrome Web Store. This *does* mean you have to log back in and re-grant permissions.
I'm starting to think it might be a permission or host permission quirk that gets reset. Could be worth checking `chrome://extensions/?id=[tl;dv-extension-id]` and looking at "Site access" after an update.
**A workaround that's saved me a couple times:** I set up a secondary recording method via a simple webhook listener as a backup. If my monitoring Zap doesn't see a clip from tl;dv within an expected timeframe, it flags it. Not ideal, but keeps me from missing clips.
Would love to hear if others have encountered this and if you've found any more permanent fixes or specific settings to check. Maybe we can crowd-source a more robust checklist!
