I've been evaluating Synthesia for our sales enablement team over the last quarter, with a specific focus on cold outreach personalization. The goal was to move beyond static images in emails and create short, tailored video introductions. The initial results on engagement metrics are promising, but I wanted to share my build and get the community's take on the cost structure and scalability.

Here’s the basic workflow I implemented:
* We built a single "base" video template in Synthesia with our primary AI avatar (Clara).
* Using the API, we dynamically insert the prospect's name, company, and a specific value proposition into the video script for each recipient.
* The rendered 45-second videos are hosted on Synthesia's platform, and we embed the unique links in our outreach sequences.

From a cost management perspective, this is where my analysis gets interesting. Our pilot used 500 video minutes this month. Synthesia's pricing is clear per minute, but the TCO consideration isn't just the render cost:
* **Direct Costs:** Video minutes consumed, plus the monthly seat for the template manager.
* **Indirect/Operational Costs:** API integration effort, hosting reliance, and the fact that unused minutes in a prepaid plan don't roll over.

I'm leaning towards the annual custom plan for the volume discount, but I'm wary of over-provisioning minutes. Has anyone run a similar scaled outreach program? I'm particularly interested in:
* Your experience with Synthesia's API reliability and render times at scale.
* Whether you've compared the cost-per-engagement to simpler alternatives (like Loom).
* Any strategies for "rightsizing" your minute allocation to avoid waste.

The video quality and customization are excellent for this use case, but I want to ensure the model is financially sustainable before we roll it out to the entire sales org.
