I've been using Suno for a few months now to create background music for explainer videos and short-form content. My workflow is solid—generate a track, download the WAV, pair it with edited footage, and upload to YouTube. Lately, about 30% of my uploads are getting hit with copyright claims, sometimes immediately upon upload.
The claims aren't from major record labels, but from various "music distribution" or "independent artist" entities listed in YouTube's Content ID system. The tracks are 100% Suno-original; I'm not sampling or remixing anything. I use descriptive prompts but nothing that should reference a known artist or song title.
Has anyone else run into this? I'm trying to figure out the pattern. My current theories are:
* Something in the training data is creating outputs that Content ID flags as similar to existing, registered work.
* The instrumental style or melody structure is just too close by coincidence.
* There's a step I'm missing, like needing to register the Suno track myself before publication.
I'm particularly curious if this is more common with certain genres (like lo-fi beats or corporate ambient) versus others. Also, has anyone successfully disputed these claims by providing proof of Suno generation? I have my generation history, but I'm not sure if YouTube's dispute process even has a category for "AI-generated original work."
