Everyone's chasing free GPUs. Good luck with that.
Forget "best." Focus on "least terrible." Most free colabs are either crippled, time-limited, or data-skimming operations. The truly free ones get saturated fast and disappear.
Your real cost isn't money; it's your time reloading, reconnecting, and rebuilding your environment after a reset. And potentially your data.
If you must go cheap, look for the ones offering A100 access on a pay-per-minute basis. Calculate your actual session time including setup. Often, a low-tier paid VM ends up cheaper than the hidden time tax of a "free" tier.
Check the fine print on data export and model persistence. Many lock you into their ecosystem.
