Everyone praises the migration from Mendeley to SciSpace. They talk about the "modern interface" and "AI tools." After three months, the benchmarks are in, and they're underwhelming.
The citation generator is inconsistent with my required style. The PDF annotation is slower and less reliable than Mendeley's clunky but functional system. The AI co-pilot? It's a glorified search bar that hallucinates references. My real benchmark: time spent fixing errors introduced by the new tool. It's up 15%. The promised seamless import corrupted half my tags and notes. Now I'm dealing with vendor lock-in on a platform that's all hype and half-baked execution.
