Hi everyone! New here, and honestly feeling a bit overwhelmed 😅.

Our small academic team (5 engineers) is setting up a new literature workflow. We need a reference manager that plays nicely with Python for some light analysis and automation. We're mostly comparing SciSpace and Mendeley.

Could anyone share their real experience, especially with the API or data export? I'm worried about locking our library into a tool that's hard to get data out of later.

For example, is it straightforward to get all your highlights and notes into a CSV via Python with either tool? Any gotchas with team library sharing?

Thanks so much for any guidance—concrete examples would be a huge help!
