Just finished migrating our entire research lab's reference library from Mendeley to SciSpace. As someone who lives in the marketing automation world and is obsessed with how tools connect, I was fascinated by the workflow shift. We did a full, side-by-side comparison over a month.

**What broke (or at least, got a bit wobbly):**
* **Integration hiccups:** Our existing Zotero connectors for some team members just stopped working. SciSpace's browser extension is good, but it meant retraining everyone on a single new workflow.
* **PDF annotation sync:** This was our biggest pain point. Detailed highlights and notes from Mendeley didn't carry over perfectly. We lost some formatting, and the organization within SciSpace is different—it's more AI-summary focused, which is cool, but the transition of old data was messy.
* **Folder structure translation:** Mendeley's folders became "Collections," but the logic felt slightly off. We spent a good afternoon reorganizing.

**What dramatically improved:**
* **The AI co-pilot is a game-changer.** Asking questions across our entire library and getting summarized answers saved us hours in early literature review stages.
* **Citation workflow feels smoother.** The "Cite" button in the Word plugin is faster for our team than Mendeley's, and having the AI suggest related papers as you write is brilliant.
* **Unified platform win.** Having the literature review, reading, and writing assistance in one tab reduced our tab chaos. It’s a better integrated experience, which, as an integration nerd, I really appreciate.

For our lab, the pros outweighed the cons, but the migration wasn't frictionless. The key was managing expectations about what *wouldn't* transfer cleanly. Has anyone else made this switch? How did you handle the annotation and note migration?
