Handling pre-prints is a total mess in most systems. Scholarcy's core value is summarizing and extracting key points, but what happens when the paper you just spent time summarizing gets a major revision or is formally published?
My workflow is broken on this. I feed a pre-print arXiv link into Scholarcy, get my flashcard, but then the final version drops in a journal with different DOIs, slightly altered text, and sometimes corrected data. Now I have two "cards" for essentially the same paper, and my library is polluted.
Does anyone have a sane process for this? Are you manually merging records, or does Scholarcy have a method to link pre-print and final publication that I've missed? This is a fundamental flaw in academic workflow automation.
