I'm looking at Rytr's tone options for a batch of client outreach emails. They list 'Formal' and 'Professional' as two distinct options. In practice, I'm not seeing a meaningful difference.
Has anyone actually run A/B tests on these? Or analyzed the output side-by-side for a real-world use case like:
* Sales follow-up sequences
* B2B service descriptions
* Contract-related communications
My suspicion is this is feature bloat. Vendors love to pad their dropdowns to look comprehensive. What I need is predictable, consistent output that doesn't make my team sound like robots or Victorian butlers.
If they are different, I'd expect:
* 'Formal' to lean passive, avoid contractions, be overly polite.
* 'Professional' to be direct, clear, and use standard business language.
But the outputs I'm seeing blur together. Wasted cycles figuring this out is exactly the kind of friction that kills tool adoption in a sales org.
- No fluff.
