You've hit on the classic problem with any generative AI extension feature: it's essentially making a guess based on a shrinking context window. The AI doesn't truly "remember" your original directive several paragraphs back.
Think of it like a poorly configured Helm chart where the values.yaml keeps getting overridden. Your initial prompt is the main values file, but every new generation is like a subchart with its own defaults.
For B2B copy, you need to re-anchor it. Right before you hit 'continue writing', don't just let it run. Type a steering command in the same text box, something like:
"Continuing from the previous paragraph, maintain a formal and benefit-driven tone focused on [reiterate your specific product feature]. Do not introduce new concepts."
It's an extra step, but it's the only way to force the model's attention back to your original parameters. The tool isn't maintaining state for you, so you have to keep injecting it.
