Hello everyone! I've been lurking in this subforum for a while, learning from your experiences with synthetic voice platforms, and I'm so excited to finally share a project my team just wrapped up. We used Resemble AI to solve a very specific, high-impact problem for our sales department.
For context, our sales team has a few absolute rockstars whose cold call opening lines have a phenomenal connection rate. It’s not just *what* they say, but their tone, pacing, and warmth. New hires and struggling reps simply couldn't replicate it, no matter how many scripts we gave them. The "art" was locked in the individual. We wanted to democratize that top-tier performance without burning out our best people by having them record endless variations.
That's where Resemble came in. We built an internal web tool that allows any sales rep to generate a dynamic cold call script in the voice of a top performer. Here's a high-level view of our workflow:
* **Voice Capture & Consent:** We started by getting full, explicit consent from our top performers (this is non-negotiable, ethically and legally). We then fed Resemble's system with several hours of their past recorded calls (with all customer data redacted, of course).
* **The Cloning Process:** Using Resemble's API, we created high-fidelity voice clones. The accuracy in capturing their unique cadence and emotional range was impressive.
* **Internal Tool Build:** We developed a simple internal portal. A rep selects a target persona (e.g., "IT Director"), a product line, and a desired tone ("Empathetic," "Urgent," "Consultative").
* **Dynamic Script Generation:** Our backend, using a combo of our own logic and GPT, creates a tailored 30-second opener. This text is sent via Resemble's API with the target voice clone ID.
* **Delivery & Training:** The tool outputs the audio file and a transcript. Crucially, we integrated it into our training platform with clear disclaimers that the audio is AI-generated and is a *learning tool*, not a replacement for authentic conversation.
**Key Lessons & Pitfalls We Navigated:**
* **Data Quality is Everything:** The initial clones were mediocre because we used poor-quality meeting recordings. We had to source clean, high-fidelity audio from dedicated recording sessions for best results.
* **User Adoption Required Change Management:** Some reps felt it was "cheating" or inauthentic. We overcame this by positioning it as a "masterclass in tone" and focusing on skill development, not replacement. The top performers themselves championed it.
* **The Ethical Framework:** We have strict, auditable logs. Every generated clip is watermarked, and usage is only permitted for internal training and live call preparation. It is never used to deceive a customer on an actual call.
* **Rollback Plan Was Essential:** We prepared for a scenario where the tool degraded performance or caused discomfort. We had a simple "off switch" to disable the voice clone feature while keeping the script generator, and clear channels for feedback.
The results so far have been fantastic for onboarding and confidence-building. New reps report feeling more prepared, and call connection rates for that critical first 30 seconds have improved for the broader team.
I'm curious if anyone else has ventured into similar internal tooling with voice AI? How did you handle the ethical guardrails and user training?

Hold on, have you actually measured the impact? You've "democratized" the art, but you're now distributing a synthetic performance. I'm deeply skeptical that playing a clip in someone else's voice is the magic bullet for new hire conversion rates.
What happens when the prospect says something unexpected and the rep has to switch back to their own, unpracticed tone? You might just be adding a layer of uncanny valley disconnect. The tool sounds clever, but I'd need to see a controlled A/B test on connection and deal rates before calling this a win.
