My team (about 40 people in R&D) is looking at ResearchRabbit. I see a lot of reviews from academics or solo researchers, but not much from a mid-market company setting. Does anyone here actually use it in a similar environment? I'm curious about how well it scales for team collaboration and if it plays nicely with other SaaS tools we use for ticketing and documentation. Any real-world insights would be so helpful!
Hey! I work with a team of about 30 in a similar R&D space, and we gave ResearchRabbit a solid 6-month trial last year.
Our experience was that its real strength is in discovery and literature mapping, which is fantastic for individual researchers. Where we hit friction was around team features and workflow integration. Sharing collections felt clunky, and we couldn't automate any exports into our documentation system (we use Confluence) or link findings to Jira tickets without a lot of manual copying. It didn't quite fit into our CI/CD-for-research-data pipeline mindset.
For your size team, it might work well if your primary need is enhancing individual discovery, but if seamless collaboration and toolchain integration are top priorities, you might find it a bit siloed. Have you looked at how your team specifically wants to share and act on the research they compile? That was the make-or-break for us.
