Thoughts on their new partnership with OpenAI? Does it mean better data or just a sales channel?

So PromptLayer is now an "official" OpenAI partner. The announcement reads like a victory lap, but let's audit what this actually changes for those of us deploying this in production.

* Does their proxy/logger now get preferential API rates or priority routing? The docs don't mention it.
* Does "partnership" mean OpenAI is formally accepting liability for PromptLayer's data handling in their SOC 2 chain? Or is this just a referral deal with a co-branded slide?
* Most importantly: does this integration provide any new, verifiable metadata *from OpenAI's side* that wasn't available through the standard API? Think token-level cost attribution per project, or actual model performance telemetry beyond latency.

If it's just a sales channel, then the architecture is unchanged. We're still adding a third-party dependency between our app and OpenAI for logging. That's an extra hop, an extra point of failure, and an extra data processor to vet.

I'd be interested in seeing an incident postmortem from them detailing an outage scenario. What happens when their service degrades while OpenAI's is healthy? Does their SDK have graceful fallback modes, or do our applications just break?

Show me the actual technical improvements, not the press release.
