Everyone’s raving about PromptLayer as the essential LLM ops layer. After a full year paying for it, my team is ripping it out. Here’s why.
The security model is theater. They log all your prompts and responses by default, “anonymized” of course. That’s a data leak waiting for a subpoena or a breach. Their support? Ghosted us for three weeks on a billing dispute, then acted like we were the problem. For the price, you’re better off with a simple open-source tracker and direct API calls. You’re paying for a dashboard and a false sense of control. —aB
