Just tried connecting PlayHT to Zapier to auto-update my IVR system’s voice prompts. It's a solid way to keep hold messages fresh without manual uploads.
Here’s my quick workflow:
**Pros:**
- Zapier triggers are reliable (I used a Google Sheets row as the source for new prompt text).
- PlayHT’s “Create Audio” API action in Zapier is straightforward—just map text and pick a voice.
- Output .mp3 lands in a designated cloud folder, perfect for my IVR provider to pull from.
**Cons:**
- No built-in Zapier action to push directly to my IVR platform (Twilio), so an extra step is needed.
- Voice settings (speed, pitch) require custom JSON in the Zap; not super intuitive.
- Small delay in audio generation (~10 sec) means real-time updates aren’t instant.
Overall, works well for scheduled weekly updates. If you're doing daily changes, the lag might matter. Anyone else set this up differently?
