Just finished my first full podcast season using PlayHT for the voice generation. I was skeptical about AI voices, but the time savings on editing was huge.
I asked my listeners for direct feedback in a survey. The main takeaways:
* **Clarity & Consistency:** Everyone praised how clear and consistent the voice was, episode to episode. No more bad takes or audio glitches from recording late at night.
* **The "Feel" Gap:** A few long-time listeners said they missed the "human touch" in certain emotional sections, even though the pronunciation was perfect. It was described as "almost too perfect."
* **Discovery:** New listeners found it very professional and engaging right from the start. No complaints there.
So, a mixed bag. It worked incredibly well for my workflow and onboarding new listeners, but I might need to find a way to mix in a real voice for key moments. Has anyone else tried blending AI and human voice in one project?
