Everyone talks about voice quality but nobody mentions the real headache: inconsistent volume between files. You generate a batch for a video or course and it's a nightmare to level them in post.

Here's what actually works. Forget their built-in "volume" slider, it's not precise. Render your files. Use a free tool like Audacity or ffmpeg in batch mode to normalize to a target LUFS. For web, aim for -16 LUFS. For podcasts, -19. Then apply a hard limiter at -1 dBTP to catch any peaks. Do this outside of PlayHT. Their platform is for generation, not professional audio post-production.
