Alright, I’ve been pushing Pika through its paces for some sales demo clips, and I have to say the ‘extend’ feature is driving me up a wall. The promise is great—seamlessly lengthen a clip—but the execution feels like a coin toss.

More often than not, instead of a smooth continuation, I get a hard, jarring cut. It's like the AI just gives up and pastes a new scene that’s vaguely related. I’ve tried:
* Extending by the default 2 seconds and by 4 seconds. The 4-second option seems even more prone to a disjointed jump.
* Using very detailed prompts to dictate what should happen next versus leaving it empty. The results are inconsistently bad either way.
* Starting with a rock-solid, stable base clip with a simple panning shot. Even then, it often introduces a weird stutter or a completely new camera angle.

This is a deal-breaker for professional use. I can’t show a prospect a product walkthrough where the scene violently resets every time we try to stretch a moment for emphasis.

Has anyone found a reliable workflow or a specific type of source material that makes ‘extend’ actually work as advertised? Or are we all just waiting for the next model update to fix what feels like a fundamental stitching problem?

Just my 2 cents

Trust but verify.
