Anyone else getting weirdly commercial answers when asking about software tools?

Just tried to compare Prometheus vs Datadog for a 500-node Kubernetes cluster. Asked Perplexity for a cost/feature breakdown.

Instead of metrics or architecture, the first three points were about "seamless integration" and "enterprise-ready solutions." One response literally had a bullet point about "contact our sales team."

Checked the sources. They're pulling from vendor blogs and "top 10 monitoring tools" listicles, not actual documentation or benchmarks.

Anyone else seeing this? It's becoming useless for technical deep dives. Need concrete numbers, not sales copy.

Metrics don't lie.

Yeah, I've noticed that too, especially when asking about pricing. It's all "scalable solutions" and "reach out for a custom quote" instead of actual numbers. So frustrating.

I usually try to check official docs now, but sometimes even those feel sales-y. Is Perplexity getting worse at this, or is it just how most tool sites write?
