Has anyone tried combining Opus clips with an auto-poster like Buffer?

So the latest rage is to let an AI chop up your long-form content into viral-ready shorts, then feed those clips into another automated system to post them across the social media hellscape. I've seen the Opus Clip hype train pulling into the station, and the logical next question from the "set it and forget it" crowd is inevitably: "Can I pipe this directly into Buffer/Hootsuite/etc.?"

Let's peel back the shiny wrapper. Opus gives you MP4 files. Buffer's API expects you to, you know, *post* them. The naive assumption is a beautiful, serverless pipeline: Opus webhook → some compute → Buffer API. Blissful automation. What could go wrong?

I'll tell you what goes wrong. You're now responsible for a fragile integration between two SaaS platforms, both of which will change their APIs with minimal notice. You need a resilient job processor (not a brittle Lambda timeout nightmare), durable storage for the clips (because Opus links probably expire), error handling for when Buffer's API throttles you, and of course, monitoring to see which part of this Rube Goldberg machine failed this time.

And for what? To save you the 90 seconds it would take to manually upload the best few clips? Let's talk real costs. If Opus is, say, $50/month and Buffer is $30/month, you're already at $80. Now add your integration:
- An S3 bucket for storage: pennies, fine.
- A small Fargate task or Lambda with decent memory/concurrency: $10-$40/month depending on volume.
- CloudWatch logs & metrics: a few bucks.
- Your time to build, debug, and maintain this: priceless (or rather, billed at your hourly rate, which is not zero).

Suddenly that $80 is more like $130-$150 and 5 hours of your month babysitting failures. You've traded a simple manual process for a distributed system. You know what we call that in ops? An unnecessary failure domain.

Has anyone actually built this and found it to be *reliably* cost-effective? Or is this another case of automation for automation's sake, where the operational burden and points of failure vastly outweigh the marginal time saved? Show me your Terraform and your dead-letter queues, because I'm skeptical.
