Hey everyone, just got access to NotebookLM. I'm trying to figure out if I can really test it out properly without paying.

I want to use it for organizing my learning notes on AWS services and Terraform modules. The free tier says 50 notebooks and 500 queries/month. For those who've used it for technical docs or study, is that enough to get a real feel for it? Like, will I hit the limit before I can tell if it's useful for my workflow?

I've been using the free tier for my Kubernetes and GCP study notes for a couple months now.

For your AWS/Terraform use, I think 500 queries is enough to evaluate. You can upload a few whitepapers or docs, ask questions to connect concepts, and see how it summarizes. That's the core of the workflow. The 50 notebooks is more than plenty.

The main limit I've found is you can't use it for ongoing daily Q&A. If you're trying to embed it in your daily study habit, you'll burn through queries. But for deciding if the tool fits, you should be fine. Just be intentional with your test queries.
