Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a bit, trying to get my head around all the different AI art workflows. I kept hitting a wall with NightCafe—I loved the art but got tired of manually picking and downloading new pieces for my desktop.
So, I finally dove into their API docs this weekend and built a little script that automatically fetches a new creation and sets it as my wallpaper every few hours. It's pretty basic right now, but it works! I'm using a simple Python script on my Mac that calls the API, grabs the latest image from a specific "style" I've been training, and uses a system command to set it.
My main goal was to always have fresh, personalized art without having to remember to log in and browse. The API is actually pretty straightforward for something like "get my latest image." I'm curious if anyone else has done something similar? I'm wondering about a few things:
* Is there a better way to handle the credits? Right now I'm just generating one image per run, but I'm worried about burning through my token stash too fast.
* Has anyone tried setting up a "curated" feed from multiple styles or previous creations? I'd love to rotate through a favorites folder.
* Also... is this against their terms? I couldn't find anything explicitly forbidding it for personal use, but I'm a bit paranoid about getting my API access revoked.
The demo fatigue with so many AI tools is real, so having this one actually *do* a job for me in the background feels like a win. Any tips from people who've played with the API more would be awesome.
