Let's cut through the hype. Everyone's talking about how Midjourney is a "game-changer" for creative pros. But I'm a solo consultant—PM, agile coach, the whole show—not a graphic designer. My "creativity" is making Gantt charts slightly less soul-crushing.

So, what's the real ROI when you're a one-person shop? I'm not selling artwork. I use it for:
* **Proposal & deck visuals:** Generating unique, on-brand (or at least on-topic) images instead of trawling stock photo sites for the 100th time.
* **Concept mockups:** Visualizing a workflow or a team structure idea for a client. "Here's how this new process *feels*" is sometimes easier with a mood image.
* **Social media/content thumbnails:** Making my LinkedIn posts look less like a corporate drone wrote them.

The cost is straightforward: $10/$30/$60 a month. The time saved is the real calculation. Is it faster than hunting for the right stock image? Usually, yes. Is it worth the subscription when I might only need it for two weeks of a big proposal push? That's the rub.

But let's be honest about the hidden costs:
* The Discord interface is a productivity sinkhole. It's like they designed it to maximize distraction.
* The "hit rate" – for every perfect "professional infographic style" image, I get five nightmare-fuel rejects. Prompt crafting is a non-billable skill I now have to develop.
* Client perception risk. Is that slightly weird hand in the corner going to make my proposal look amateurish?

So, my ROI equation isn't just `Money Earned - Subscription Cost`. It's more like:
(Time Saved x My Hourly Rate) - (Subscription + Prompt Tinkering Time x My Hourly Rate) - (Weirdness Risk Factor).

I'm currently on the $30 plan and it *probably* breaks even, but only because I bill out at a decent rate. If my workflow slows down, it's the first subscription I'd cut. It's a luxury tool, not a core utility like Jira or even a good diagramming app.

What about the rest of you? Any other solos actually finding this pays for itself, or is it just a shiny toy we're rationalizing?
