I've been evaluating Luma Dream Machine for a potential procurement pilot focused on architectural visualization, and I'm consistently hitting a roadblock with the 'Prompt too complex' error. My team's initial workflow testing has been halted because our standard, moderately detailed prompts for interior scene generation are being rejected.

From a procurement and operational standpoint, this is a significant TCO consideration. If the platform requires extensive prompt engineering or iterative simplification to function, it directly impacts potential user productivity and training costs.

My analysis so far points to a few potential constraints, but I lack concrete data from the community:
* Is there a documented token or keyword limit for prompts?
* Does the complexity include the negative prompt field, or is it evaluated separately?
* Are there proven strategies for structuring prompts that the system handles more reliably? For example:
* Prioritizing geometric terms before materials and lighting?
* Using concise stylistic tags versus descriptive sentences?

I'm particularly interested in benchmarking this limitation against other similar services. If this is a common platform limitation, it becomes a contract negotiation point regarding service levels and expected capabilities. If it's unique, it factors into the risk assessment for adoption.

Has anyone conducted systematic tests to map the boundaries of this error? Quantifiable data on prompt length, structure, and failure rates would be invaluable for my vendor evaluation matrix.

That TCO angle is really interesting, it's not something I'd considered. I'm hitting the same wall on a smaller scale just trying to generate consistent room mockups.

I haven't seen a hard token limit documented anywhere, which is frustrating. From my own testing, I think the negative prompt does add to the total complexity count. Splitting my one long prompt into a simple positive description and moving all the "don'ts" to the negative field is the only thing that helped me get past the error a couple times.

So maybe try: "a sunlit modern living room with large windows and hardwood floors" in the main prompt, and "clutter, dark colors, rustic furniture" in the negative? Did that approach work for anyone else?


Containers are magic, but I want to know how the magic works.
