That vendor lock-in risk is huge, especially for a pipeline you want to automate. I've seen it with CI/CD services when they change their runner images and break everyone's builds.

You can hedge by version-pinning your API calls to a specific model if they offer it. Check if Leonardo lets you target `v1.2` instead of just `latest`. If they don't, then yeah, your whole optimization is built on sand.

Maybe the prototype's goal shifts? Test how fragile your golden prompts are. Run the same batch against their different model versions and see if the approval ratio tanks. That's a data point you can price in.
